Restoring joint mobility, fluid movement and inner ease through integrated bodywork.
Restriction in the joints is not only a mechanical issue. Stiffness in shoulders, hips, spine or smaller joints is a result of reduced mobility, myofascial tension, habitual holding and regulation of the nervous system
In this 6-day professional training module, you will learn how to work with joint release and mobilisation as an integrated part of a MER session. As joints regain mobility and fluidity, you will feel a shift toward greater ease of movement and a sense of grace and flow in the whole body.
Joints as Bridges of Movement and Experience
Joints function as bridges between different parts of the body, transmitting and absorbing force, coordinating movement and providing stability and mobility. When joints become restricted, this affects not only range of motion and structural efficiency, but also how movement is experienced—becoming effortful, controlled or disconnected. Restriction in the joints is often linked to patterns of holding, control and unconscious bracing.
- limited joint mobility can reflect both physical restriction and protective holding
- restoring movement involves both mechanical change and nervous system adaptation
Through gentle and precise techniques, you will learn how to address these aspects simultaneously.
Fluid Body: Working with the Body’s Natural Rhythms
Fluid Body joint release is based on the understanding that the body is largely composed of water in different forms and rhythmic movement. Rather than forcing change, the practitioner follows and supports the body’s inherent wave-like motions, improving joint function through traction, rotation and spiraling. It rehydrates joint capsules and improves the function of synovial fluid, the natural lubricant found in human joints.
The work is experienced by most people as pleasurable and clients often report a sense of lightness and wholeness in the body after receiving Fluid Body.
Integration with work on the myofascia
Joint release becomes particularly effective when combined with deep myofascial work. As tension in the fascia releases and the autonomic nervous system regulates, Fluid Body techniques give the body opportunity to integrate the deep work.
An International Professional Training in Holistic Bodywork
This module is part of a comprehensive professional training in Myofascial Energetic Release offered by True North Bodywork and is designed for therapists, bodyworkers and those seeking a professional training in deep bodywork, fascia therapy and trauma-informed practice.
The training facilitates both the development of practical therapeutic skills and a deeper understanding of how body, emotion and awareness function as one integrated whole. The work supports both professional development and personal growth.
